Betty Pettersson's Gymnasium and Nya Enskede School are expanding the custodial team with an additional school custodian.

Betty Pettersson's Gymnasium opened in the fall of 2022. This autumn, Nya Enskede School (middle school) will also move into the premises, and we will share common areas such as the cafeteria, lounge, student café, library, etc.

From this autumn, the high school and middle school will have approximately 1000 students and about 100 staff.

Your Role

As a school custodian, you will be part of the Service Team and have a central and important role in the daily operations with a focus on service. You will address faults and deficiencies in the school’s premises and be responsible for systematic maintenance, upkeep, and inspection of the school’s properties. You will also work with systematic fire protection efforts, technical equipment, and act as a contact person for both internal and external partners. As part of the custodial team, you will be responsible for furnishing, relocations, assembly, repair of inventory, recycling, reuse, and ordering various materials as well as receiving goods. You will also be responsible for the distribution and reconciliation of keys and access cards.

The role also involves working proactively to identify potential challenges regarding premises issues, following up on problems that arise, and ensuring that the measures taken work as expected. In addition to practical tasks, an important part of the job is to create good relationships with students and staff and to contribute to safety and well-being at the school.

Other tasks may also be added of both practical and administrative nature.

As Nya Enskede School moves in this summer, it will mean more focus on moving and premises issues.

In your role as a school custodian, you will be responsible for patrolling and locking the school.

You may need to assist with managing digital tools for students and staff.

Initially, working hours will be from 08:30 to 17:00. Working hours may be adjusted based on the needs of the operations in the autumn. Some evening work may occur.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who enjoys having many contact points and working independently. We offer a varied position where you are expected to take your own initiatives.

• Completed high school education, preferably with a focus on technology and/or craftsmanship or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the employer.
• Driving license B
• Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
• Good computer skills and basic knowledge of the Office suite.
• Good ability to perform simple repairs indoors and outdoors.
• Experience in custodial tasks, property maintenance, or similar tasks that the employer finds suitable.
• The job may sometimes require significant physical effort, which means you must be physically fit.

Meritorious

• Work experience in school operations - City of Stockholm.
• Administrative experience.
• Experience with Agresso.
• Experience working with fire safety and self-inspections.
• Experience providing service to digital conference and teaching environments as well as technical equipment.
• Lock and access systems.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and enjoys helping others. You will have many social contacts, so it is important that you enjoy working with people and are communicative.
